If you are serious about carp is, go to your local agricultural products and buy a bag of maize. Course for a few days until it begins to soften. Then take it everywhere you go fishing and I get the dispersion in water. I've even seen people walk using a sling rigged drum. Keep it up bait if you plan to regularly fish.

If you're ready to fish, you bring up a box of corn as bait. Use a small hook, but strong. A 1-0 trotline Mustad hook is strong enough. I have not tried it yet, but I would do well with 3-0 wire betting circle hooks. Not even set the hook with them. When a fish takes the bait and moves, solid hooks. Everything you need to do is go home. Prefer tight line for carp, as Catfishing.

Good luck and censorship.

I always had luck with canned corn. A hook with a float and weight is the best choice. They want to be the bait to just above the lake bottom.
